olumbia University Fertility Center (CUFC) is celebrating a transformative renovation of its flagship site at 5 Columbus Circle, beginning a new chapter in fertility care. The opening of a new floor doubles the center’s size, a welcomed addition that has expanded the fertility center’s capacity for fertility care and research.

This newly renovated floor is home to a unified laboratory space, where clinical and research scientists work side-by-side to advance fertility care and reproductive medicine. “This strategic fusion of clinical and research environments enables close collaboration, uniting clinical scientists, research experts, physicians, embryologists, nurses, and staff. Together, they accelerate our ability to advance fertility care and to offer our patients the very best chance at success,” says Zev Williams, MD, PhD, Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).

The fertility team at Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) has also grown its clinical roster, adding three new faculty members.

Priyanka Ghosh, MD joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She brings a strong commitment to individualized care to her new role, recognizing that every patient’s story is unique. As a clinician, Dr. Ghosh strives to establish patient relationships grounded in trust and open communication while providing high quality fertility care.

Alex Robles, MD, who completed his REI fellowship at Columbia, also joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. His special interest areas include nutrition, lifestyle, and holistic fertility care. As a first-generation Latino-American and a fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Robles is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, especially to Columbia’s large Hispanic patient population.

Ashley Wiltshire, MD joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. With a passion for patient advocacy and reproductive justice, she is dedicated to creating safe, supportive, and inclusive spaces for patients to reach their fertility goals. Dr. Wiltshire is also an accomplished research scientist and has published her research in multiple peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include IVF outcome optimization, fertility preservation, PCOS, and disparities in outcomes.

This exciting time of expansion comes as the Columbia University Fertility Center celebrates 40 years of providing personalized, high-quality care to patients trying to conceive or preserve their fertility. Under the leadership of Dr. Williams and Dr. Eric Forman, Medical and Laboratory Director of CUFC, the center remains a pioneer in fertility treatments and is home to many firsts in the field.

Since Columbia’s fertility program opened its doors in 1983, there have been dramatic increases in the treatment options and success rates of fertility treatments. Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT), an area of expertise for Dr. Forman, has been a key area for improving outcomes for patients. While fertility treatments are more accessible to patients than ever before due to insurance coverage and clinic growth, the demand for cutting-edge, compassionate care is high.

As the fertility center expands its reach to meet this growing demand, a commitment to high quality care remains at the forefront. “At Columbia University Fertility Center, we meticulously optimize and personalize every facet of fertility care. We are dedicated to supporting our patients through their fertility journey, and pioneering innovative technologies to improve patient outcomes today and into the future,” says Dr. Williams.
